Mabel was born about 1590 in Ravenstonedale, , Westmoreland, England.  Mabel's father is Anthony TAYLOR and her mother is Ellen FOTHERGILL.  Her maternal grandfather was Gilbert FOTHERGILL and her maternal grandmother is Ann UNKNOWN. She has two brothers and three sisters, named Richard, Anthony Jr., Elizabeth, Alice and Isabel.  She is the second youngest of the six children.
