Comfort was born on February 14th, 1661 in Boston, Suffolk, Ma. Comfort's father was John STARR and his mother was Martha (Mary) BUNKER. His paternal grandparents were Comfort STARR and Elizabeth Perley; his maternal grandparents were George BUNKER and Judith MAJOR. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Eleazer, John, Benjamin, Judith and Lydia. He was the third youngest of the six children.
