His paternal grandparents were Isaac SHELDON and Mary WOODFORD; his maternal grandparents were George PALMER and Bethia (Bethiah) MOWRY. He had six brothers and eight sisters, named Ezekiel, John, Isaac, Joseph, Roger, William, Patience, Abigail, Deliverance, Elizabeth, Sarah, Abigail, Mary and Dinah.
