Joseph Pinnell, son of James Pinnell & Elizabeth Wright, married Harriet RAYHILL (not "Raghill") daughter of Matthew Rayhill (an Irish immigrant) & Esther ________.
James Pinnell (immigrant), was born in 1740, was a "Junior" and was the son of James & Ann Pinnell (never immigrated) of London, England, a very prominant family.
James, Jr. inherited a tract of land (consisting of a block of buildings) valued at over 25,000 pounds when his father (James, Sr.) died in the late 1700s.
This tract of land was never claimed due to the American Revolution. James, Jr. served in the 13th Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line (Blue Coats) and died in 1821 in Greenbrier County, VA (now WV).
