Ira Britt was born on September 16th, 1872 in Cusseta, Chattahoochee Co GA. Ira Britt's father was Nathaniel Nunn NICHOLSON and his mother was Mary Elizabeth DAWSON. His paternal grandparents were John Candor Nickelson and Frances Fanny Nunn; his maternal grandparents were Malakiah DAWSON and Mary Marcus BROWN. He had three sisters named Mary Ida, Mary Ida and Sallie. He was the second youngest of the four children. He had nine half-brothers named James John, Martin Luther, William Jefferson, Leroy I, Daniel Melson, Nathan, Samuel Pratt, Martha and Calvin. He died at the age of 82 on January 25th, 1955 in Cusseta, Chattahoochee Co GA. He was buried in Mount Olive/Lower Cemetery, Cusseta, Chattahoochee Co GA.-
