Maud (Matilda) was born about 1192 in Of, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales and her baptism took place in September 1201.  Maud (Matilda)'s father was William MARSHALL and her mother was Isabel Fitzgilbert De CLARE.  Her paternal grandparents were John "the Marshall" FITZGILBERT and Sibilla (Sibyl) De SALISBURY; her maternal grandparents were Richard "Strongbow" Fitzgilbert De CLARE and Eva (Aoife) MCMURROUGH. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Gilbert, William, Richard, Anselm, Walter, Margaret, Eve, Joane, Isabel and Sibyl.  She was the second oldest of the eleven children.  She died on March 27th, 1248.  She was buried in Tintern Abbey, Chapel Hill, Monmouthshire, England.

‌Maud (Matilda) and Hugh Le were married in a religious ceremony before 1207 in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  They had six sons and a daughter, named Ralph, Roger, John, Hugh, William Le, Simon Le and Isabel.
