Ahaz was born on December 6th, 1872 in Poca District, Kanawha Co., WV. Ahaz's father was William Gilbert Jordan and his mother was Anna Eliza Legg. His maternal grandparents were Achilles Anderson Legg and Mary Aurilla Monday. He had two brothers and nine sisters, named William G., O. J., Mary C., Eliza A., Melissa, Martha, Louisa, Sarah, Almeda Ellen, Paradine and Levica Regina. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 35 on November 1st, 1908 in Kanawha Co., WV.-
