Katherine was born in 1557 in Of, Sellinge, Kent, England. Katherine's father was Thomas (Hatch) HATCHE and her mother was Mrs. Joane HATCHE. Her paternal grandfather was John HATCH and her paternal grandmother is Mrs-John HATCH. She had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Walter, William, Thomas, Winnifred, Winnfrithe, Winnfrithe, Eleanor (Ellynor) and Elizabeth. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.
