Her paternal grandfather was James Fore and her paternal grandmother is Sarah Elizabeth HURT; her maternal grandparents are Joel Mann and Kitty Black. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Joel J., Charles Robert, Nathaniel, Edward H., Sarah J., Margaret Emily, Rachel Rebecca and Arrilla. She is the youngest of the nine children.General Notes
Her relationship to these parents is assumed: 1) There has never been anyother family of fores in Kanawha Co.,he is living with Robert and SarahFore Thaxton in the 1880 Census as Niece, 3)At her Marriage in 1883, aneighbor, Fountain W. Holmes, was listed as Guardian, therefore herparents were already deceased.
