Mary Jane was born on September 10th, 1857 in Blair Co., PA. Mary Jane's father was Henry Hoover Dilling and her mother was Sarah Nicodemus. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Puderbaugh Dilling and Elizabeth Hoover. She had five brothers and five sisters, named George Nicodemus, Andrew D., John Calvin, Charles H., Joseph J., Harriet A., Kate, Emma, Maggie and Ella. She is the second oldest of the eleven children.-
