His paternal grandfather was Thomas DUTTON and his paternal grandmother is Ellen (Eleanor) THORNTON; his maternal grandparents are Henry MINSHULL and Tibota De PULFORD. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Piers(Peter), Lawrence, Thomas, Edmund, Agnes, Ellen and Joan. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 71 in 1440.
