Martha Alice was born on June 24th, 1861 in , , Cannon, Tn. Martha Alice's father was Abraham (Abram) H DAVENPORT and her mother was Sarah Susan WILSON. Her paternal grandparents are Reuben DAVENPORT and Ruth M SAULS; her maternal grandparents are Steve WILSON and Elizabeth HERRIMAN. She had four brothers and a sister, named William Berle, Wiley Cates, George Allen, Thomas Bethel and Nancy Catherina. She was the third oldest of the six children.
