Abigail was born about 1695 in Newtown, Suffolk County, New York.1 Abigail's father was Thomas Betts and her mother was Mercy Whitehead. Her paternal grandparents were Richard Betts and Joanna Chamberlain; her maternal grandparents were Daniel Whitehead and Abigail Stevenson. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Thomas, Daniel, Mercy, Joanna, Mary, Elizabeth and Deborah. She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She died in Newtown, Long Island, Queens County, New York. She was buried in Newtown, Long Island, Queens County, New York.1 1 -
