Sarah was born on August 23rd, 1731 in Bedford, King George Co., VA.  Sarah's father is John Battaile and her mother is Sarah Taliaferro.  Her maternal grandfather was John Taliaferro and her maternal grandmother is Sarah Smith.  She is an only child.
