Ruth was born about 1760 in Hillsborough, Randolph, North Carolina. Ruth's father was Thomas Allred and her mother was Elizabeth Diffee. Her paternal grandfather was John ALDRIDGE and her paternal grandmother is Ann or Annie Hamilton; her maternal grandfather was William Diffee and her maternal grandmother is Betty Ann UNKNOWN. She had fifteen brothers and four sisters, named William, James, James, Elias, Elias, John, John, Moses, Moses, Eli, Eli, Levi, Levi, Thomas, Thomas, Rachel, Rachael, Elizabeth and Elizabeth. She was the sixth oldest of the twenty children. She died on March 3rd, 1856.General Notes
