Joseph was born on October 9th, 1673 in Muddy River, Brookline, Plymouth, Mass and his baptism took place on October 12th, 1673 in Roxbury, Norfolk, Ma. Joseph's father was Peter ASPENWALL and his mother was Remember PALFORY. His paternal grandparents are William Thomas ASPINWALL and Elizabeth UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were Peter PALFORY and Edith PALFORY. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, Peter, Nathaniel, Thomas, Eleazer, Job, Timothy, Mehitable, Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.
