John ASHBY

John was born in 1783 and his baptism took place on April 20th, 1783 in Ashover, Derbys., Engl. John's father was Joseph ASHBY and his mother was Anne HOLMES. His paternal grandfather is Richard ASHBY and his paternal grandmother was Sarah MARRIOTT; his maternal grandparents are James HOLMES and Hannah SMITH. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, George, Peter, Ann, Sarah, Hannah, Blyth and Lucy. He is the third youngest of the nine children.
