Roger MORTIMER 
Roger was born on April 11th, 1374 in Usk, Monmouthshire. Roger's father was Edmund MORTIMER and his mother was Philippa PLANTAGENET. His paternal grandparents were Roger DE MORTIMER and Philippa DE MONTAGU; his maternal grandparents were Duke Of Clarence LIONEL and Elizabeth DE BURGH. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Edmund, John, Philippa and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 24 on July 20th, 1398 in Kells, Meath, Ireland.General Notes

neage (great-grandson of Edward III) he was brought up a
s a royal ward under the tutelage of Thomas Holland, Earl o
f Kent, whose daughter he married. In 1385 Richard II decla
red him heir presumptive to the throne, and in 1394 he wen
t with Richard to Ireland to subdue the rebel Irish chiefs
. His bravery, prowess and liberality gained him great popu
larity with the people, but stirred up animosity among cour
t rivals. However, their plot against him failed to develo
p before his death in a battle with the clans of Leinster.

Anne was born on December 27th, 1390 in New Forest, West Meath, Ireland. She died at the age of 20 in September 1411. She was buried in Langley, Hertfordshire.
