Roger was born about 1388 in Preston Plucknet, Somerset, England. Roger's father was John DE STOURTON and his mother was Jane BASSET. His paternal grandparents were William DE STOURTON and Jane VERNON; his maternal grandfather was Ralph BASSET. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Robert, Richard, Edmund, Huskin, John, Elizabeth and Mary. He was the second oldest of the eight children.-
