Miles was born about 1030 in Montlhery-sur-Oise, France. Miles' father was I Guy and his mother was Hodierne de Gometz. His paternal grandparents were I Milon and Thibauda De Montlhery; his maternal grandfather was Guillaume de Gometz. He had a brother and five sisters, named Guy II, Melesinde, Hodierna, Isabel, Elizabeth and Adele. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died in 1118.General Notes
