Eustachia was born about 1162 in Courtenay, Galinois, France.  Eustachia's father was I Pierre and her mother was Elizabeth de Courtenay.  Her paternal grandparents were Louis VI "the Fat" Capet and Adelaide De Maurienne; her maternal grandparents were Seigneur de Courtenay Reginald and Matilda de Donjon. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Pierre II, Guillaume, Robert, Alice, Constance, Isabelle, Clementia and Phillippe.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.  She died after 1235.
