Robert was born about 1220 in Bold, Prescot, Lancastershire, England. Robert's father was Matthew de Bold. His paternal grandfather was Robert de Bold. He had two brothers and a sister, named Henry, Roger and Alicia. He was the oldest of the four children. Robert is no longer alive.
They had a son named Peter.
