Sir Walter was born about 1322 in Escryck, Yorkshire, England. Sir Walter's father was Ralph Lascelles and his mother was Maud Constable. His paternal grandparents were Ralph Lascelles and Joan Burdett; his maternal grandparents were Simon Constable and Katherine Cumberworth. He had a brother and two sisters, named Richard, Elizabeth and Joan. He was the second oldest of the four children.-
