Albert was born on September 15th, 1852 in Flessmeer, Ostfriesland,Germany. Albert's father was Christian (Chris) Eilers Kruger and his mother was Neone Klaasson Soorholz. His maternal grandparents were Claas Classen Soorholz and Taalke Alberts Jacobs Roskam. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Klaas C., John, Taalke, Christina Charlotta, Noune Lottie, Taalke Matilda (Tillie), Frederika (Rika) Johanna and Jessie.
