Aud "the Deepminded" was born about 0840 in Hvamm, Iceland.  Aud "the Deepminded"'s father was Ketil Flatneb Bjornsson and her mother was Yngvild Ketilsdottir.  Her paternal grandfather was Bjorn "The Ungartered" Buna; her maternal grandfather was Ketil Ram.  She was an only child.

They had a son named Thorstein "The Red".
