Rebecca was born about 1660 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Rebecca's father was Thomas Follansbee and her mother was Mary. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Follansbee and Mary. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, William, Francis, Mary, Anne, Abigail, Sarah and Hannah. She was the oldest of the nine children.
