Katherine Fengal

Katherine was born about 1852 in Burlington, Iowa.  Katherine's father was John Peter Fengel and her mother was Anna Margaretha Kratz.  Her paternal grandparents were Johann Peter Fenchel and Anna Katherina Kratz; her maternal grandparents were Peter Fenchel and Maria Magdelena Kratz. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Heinrich (Henry), Peter Adolph, John Peter, Peter Ernest, Maria Magdelina, Sibella Christina, Infant, Charlotte P. and Louise.  She was the second youngest of the ten children.
