Gautier II D'Avesnes 
Gautier II was born about 1181 in Avesnes, Pas-de-Calais, France. Gautier II's father was Jacques D'Avesnes and his mother was Adelphie De Guise. His paternal grandparents were Nicolas "Plukiel" D'Avesnes and Countess de la Roche Mathilde; his maternal grandparents were Bernard De Guise and Alix. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Bouchard, Jacques, Guy, Mathilde, Ida, Ada and Adelaide. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died in 1246.-
