Marie Louisa Sophia Christiana was born on January 23rd, 1848 in Ulrekenhof, Mecklenberg-Schwerin, Germany. Marie Louisa Sophia Christiana's father was Heinrich Johann Becker and her mother was Maria Margareta Dorothea Bielow Buckow. Her paternal grandparents were Joachim Heinrich Becker and Catharina Ilabe Krohn; her maternal grandfather was Johann Joachim Buckow. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Heinrich Johann Joachim Christopher, Johann Joachim Heinrich, Friedrich Johann Joachim, Carl Heinrich Johann Ludwig, Sophia Wilhelmina Dorothea Herica, Louisa Maria Augusta, Dorothea Helena Augusta Johanna and Wilhelmina Anna Friedrica "Minnie". She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 79 on January 22nd, 1928 in Arland Twp, Barron, Wisconsin.General Notes
Marie came to America in 1873 with her husband and children. She never learned
to speak English. Her granddaughter, Edna Cornwall said she had a large flower
and vegetable garden neatly laid out with paths between sections. She is
buried in Silver Creek Cemetery.
