Ralph ll was born about 1182. Ralph ll's father was Ralph l , Baron of Dudley de Somery and his mother was Margaret FitzGilbert Marshal. His maternal grandparents were *John FitzGilbert Marshall and *Sibyl , de Salisbury de Evereux. He had a brother and a sister, named Roger , Baron of Dudley and Joan. He was the oldest of the three children.
