Walter was born about 1180 in Elmley Castle,England. Walter's father was Walter de Beauchamp and his mother was Bertha de Braose. His paternal grandparents were William de Beauchamp and Joane Waleries; his maternal grandparents were William de Braiose and Bertha de Gloucester. He was an only child. He died on April 14th, 1236.-
