His maternal grandparents were Adam Walters and Annara Cunningham. He had a brother named Forrest Samuel. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 66 in September 1953 in Pekin,Illinois. He was buried in Lakeside Cemetery,Pekin,Illinois.-
