from a letter from Mr Wilson March 8, 1983 RD. 64 East, Princeton, Ind 47670
Dear Mrs. Elliott,
Received your letter in regard to Uncle Albert's pedigree! I'm afraid I can't help very much. I can help you a lettle with Aunt Lizzie.
You stated you thought she was my sister, she was my father's sister. These people have all ben dead for a long time. I am 82 and I was about 25 or 26 years old when they died. Elizabeth Wilson (Lizzie Yarber) was a sister to Herschel Wilson, my father. She was the 2nd oldest and Dad was the youngest in the family. In that family John was oldest, Elizabeth, Myranda and Herschel.
When I was a kid I loved to go to Uncle Alberts because she was an excellant cook.
I have made out as much as I have on Aunt lizzie on seperate sheet. I'll go the other way on her now. She married Albert Yarber. They lived in Pike County (Ind) and they had one son, Ray Yarber. Ray married Cora Lippold and they had three children. The oldest a boy Audrey Yarber, the second a girl Helen and the youngest a girl Hazel. Thrls both died young and Audrey moved out west somewhere, I think Mich. maybe. Helen married Luther Henke from Stendal, Ind. and had one boy before she died. This boy was named John. He might be living at Huntingburg, Ind. Ii'm not sure.
Audrey had some children but I don't know their names or where they live. One boy was named Jack and he tried out for big league baseball but I never heard if he nade it or not.
I called the library tonight and ask if they had a copy of Pike Co. history. They do have and I'll go up there the first time I can and see if it tells anything about the Yarbers. I just don't know a person that knows anything about Uncle Albert.
Elizabeth Wilson's folk came from England and Scotland and settled in VA., then they moved to Clay, KY. From there to ------- Ind.
Albert died from T. B. also did Aunt Lizzies sister but she never took it. They lived on a Big hill in a log house, however very neat and homy.
I taught my first yr. of school when I was 19 and every Fri. night Uncle Albert would call and want me to come over and hunt quail (on Sat.) He was too old to go but he would have his gun and he would always have shells to use.
I'm going to send this to you but if I can find anything from the Libray, I'll send it to you.
Yours Truly,
Burles Owen Wilson
