Josiah was born on November 7th, 1692 in Taunton,Bristol,MA. Josiah's father was Benjamin WILLIAMS Sr. and his mother was Rebecca WILLIAMS (MACY). His paternal grandparents were Richard WILLIAMS and Frances DIGHTON (DEIGHTON); his maternal grandparents were George Captain? MACY Capt. and Susannah STREET. He had two brothers and a sister, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Benjamin, Lt. John, Rebecca and Rebecca. He was the third oldest of the five children.
