Jacob (Jake) was born in 1832.  Jacob (Jake)'s father was Gershom Vandenbark and his mother was Mary Baird.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 47 in 1879.

‌Jacob (Jake) and Helen Virginia (Jennie) were married in a religious ceremony on February 27th, 1855 in Muskingum County,Ohio.  They had two sons and eight daughters, and also a child of unknown gender, named Thomas, Jacob (Jake), Rose, Flora Vandenbark, Ollie, Emma, Nellie (Ella), Mattie, Carrie, Blanche and Unknown.
