William Augustus was born on April 10th, 1869. William Augustus' father was William Stroud VanGilder and his mother was Matilda Elliott. His paternal grandparents were William VanGilder and Mary Huffman; his maternal grandparents were Augustine Elliott and Sarah Kercheval. He had a sister named Arbana Jane.
