Willem was born on July 8th, 1764 in Kouderkerk,Zuid Holland,Netherland. Willem's father was Jacob VAN DER VIS and his mother was Dirkje Cornelisse VAN GEEN. His paternal grandparents were Jan Jacobise VAN DER VIS and Martjtje Andriesse HOMBERG; his maternal grandparents were Cornelis Van GEEN and Hendrikje VAN VLIET. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Cornelis, Jacob, Arij, Gijsbert, Pieter, Gijsbert, Hendritje, Hendritje and Jannetje. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 73 on December 19th, 1837 in Kouderkerk,Zuid Holland,Netherland.General Notes
