Rufus Stacy 
Rufus was born in 1702 in Gloucester,Essex,Ma.1 Rufus' father was John Stacy and his mother was Mary Clarke. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stacy and Susanna Worcester; his maternal grandparents were Matthew Clarke and Abigail Maverick. He had five brothers and a sister, named John, John, Samuel, Benjamin, Joseph and Mary. He was the third youngest of the seven children.General Notes

Rufus Stacy b. ca 1711, Salem or Gloucester, MA. Married Martha Kingsbury at Gloucester , Ma, 27 Sep 1731, by Rev White. Five children were recorded, Rufus, Susanna, Ebenezer, Marth a, and Lucy.
Babson in the "History of Gloucester" says Rufus settled in Gloucester in 1731, the yea r he was married. In 1758, he was reported to have been taken prisoner by the indians. Babs on also says Rufus was a fisherman and on May 16, 1657, sailed to the Grand Banks in the scho oner Abigail. they made three trips that summer with a crew of seven and caught 27,035 fis h of which Rufus Stacy's share was 3,784 fish. Rufus was in captivity in Canada. His deat h date is uncertain. (Book Col. William Stacy, Revolutionary War Hero)
