Thomas Sheperd 
Thomas was born in 1705. Thomas' father was William Sheperd and his mother was unknown. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Sheperd and unknown. He was an only child. He died at the age of 71 in 1776.General Notes
Shepherdstown and Shepherd College in WV are named in honor of Capt. Thomas Shepherd who founded Meclenburg in 1736, which was later called Shepherdstown. It is the oldest town in WV(from Bonar Family Genealogy).
