Nickolas was born about 1566 in Of,Edworth,Bedfordshire,England.  Nickolas' father was John SPENCER and his mother was Ann (Agnes) MERRILL. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named John Merryill, Jarrat, Michael, Girard, Gerard, William, Michael, Elizabeth and Alice.  He was the youngest of the ten children.
