Carl Erdmann was born on December 26th, 1840 in Posen,Prussia.  Carl Erdmann's father was Johann Gottfried SCHULZ and his mother was Louise BOHM. He had four brothers and a sister, named Gottlieb Ferdinand, Johann August, Friedrich Wilhelm, Dienegott Heinrich and Friedericke Pauline.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 75 on July 24th, 1916 in Friedensburg,South Australia.  He was buried in Friedensburg,South Australia.
