Lavina (Vina) Jane was born on May 20th, 1840 in Warrick County,Indiana. Lavina (Vina) Jane's father was John D. Powers and her mother was Feriby Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac H. Powers and Abigail Davis. She had a brother and two sisters, named John Dennis, Hannah Lewisa and Abigail. She was the second youngest of the four children. She had four half-brothers named William, Joseph, Samuel D. or and Stephen A.. She died at the age of 61 on April 14th, 1902. She was buried in Log Creek Cemetary,Pike County,Indiana.-
