John Northrup, Jr. 
John was born on July 9th, 1722 in Newtown,Fairfield,CT.1 John's father was John Northrop Lieutenant and his mother was Mary Porter. His paternal grandparents were Jeremiah Northrop and Phoebe Sr Northrop Mrs.. He had a brother and two sisters, named Jonathan, Ruth and Mary. He was the second youngest of the four children. John, Jr. and his father Lt. John Northrop held the office of Newtow n town clerk for 25 years. This according to a note in the listing o f families in Fairfield County. It also notes there wer 10 children , but only four are listed and entered in this record on 8/7/97.
