General Notes
According to the anderson family history (quoted by Ethyln Rainey): Godfrey Isbell (b 150) Lived in Pickens Co. SC with or near Pendleton Isbell (b 1757) at the time of the brawl with John Anderson in which John Anderson died while trespassing on the Isbell property (to cut down a Christmas tree for his children, according to the Andersons). Godfrey was charged with murder but his younger brother Pendleton was not. Godfrey was not convicted. However, Godfrey removed to KY and then to TN to live near his uncle Zachariah of the Watauga settlement. He was a Captain at the Battle of King's Mountain.
The names of Godfrey and Pendleton both are handed down among Zachariah's descendants also.
There is not one Pendleton or Godrey that I know of among the descendants of James Isbell & Wife Frances Tomplins Livingston. Yet some people on the interenet list Pendleton as their son.
In fact, the account of their family apapearing in Notable Soouthern Families (by their direct descendant Zella Armstrong) only lists 10 children. I see a lot of people on the internet are now listing 11 children, which is incorrect.
