Thomas was born on April 8th, 1679 in Hampfield,Cloucester Co,Virginia. Thomas' father was Capt John Hampton and his mother was Mary Mann. His paternal grandfather was Rev. Thomas Hampton. He had three brothers named John, William and Richard. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 61 on August 8th, 1740 in Hamptonville,Caroline Co,Virginia.-
