Lammert was born on August 21st, 1774 in Lekkerkerk,Zuid Holland,Netherland.  Lammert's father was Arie HOFMAN and his mother was Jannigje Thonasse KLEIJN KLEIN.  His paternal grandparents were Lambregt HOFMAN and Annigje Cornelisse VAN DER HOEK; his maternal grandparents were Tomus KLEYN and Ingje Jacobs DE LELY. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Jacob, Lambert, Thomas, Cornelis, Arie, Tingtje, Amugje, Annigje and Janna.  He was the oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 4 on March 8th, 1779.
