His paternal grandparents were Peter Goad and Dicy Smith; his maternal grandparents were Marsham (Massa) Powers and Jane Holmes. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Martin A., Jacob Foster, Charles Willard, Israel M., Hannah, Lucy Ann and Dicy J.. He was buried in Freedom Cemetery,Warrick Co. IN.-
