Patience was born about 1778. Patience's father was Elisha Gentry and her mother was UNKNOWN Naomi. Her paternal grandparents were David Gentry and Sarah Brooks. She had six brothers named Elisha, Elijah, Martin, David, Cain and Micajah. She was the second oldest of the seven children.
