Wiers was born on November 1st, 1750 in Bergambacht,Zuid Holland.  Wiers' father was Gerrit Wiersze GELDERBLOM and his mother was Johanna Jooster HEIJCOOP.  His paternal grandparents were Wiers GELDERBLOM and Annigje GERRITSE. He had four brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Jan Gerritsze, Joost, Wouter, Aalbert, Neeltje, Lijsbeth, Jannigje, Annigje and Gijsbert.
