Avelina's father was Sir John Fitz Geoffrey and her mother was Isabel Bigod. Her paternal grandparents were Geoffrey Fitz Piers and Aveline de Clare; her maternal grandparents were Hugh Bigod and Maud Marshall. She had three sisters named Maud Fitz, Isabel Fitz and Joan FitzJohn. She had three half-sisters named Margaret, Maud and Joan Fitz. She died about May 20th, 1274.-
